Grocery club success!

Well folks, here it is. Some of you have been asking how I only spend about 60$ on food for the month. Some things you won't see on there are rice and lentils and maybe some other things that I just generally keep in my pantry. I don't have to buy those every time but when it does come around I budget for them.

oh my word.

ok. first off let me apologize for my lack of photos.

Moving right along. I went to Aldi today to try to get some groceries for cheaper than normal. WRONG. This place was really no better off than Kroger. I was sorely disappointed. Maybe sometimes they have good deals on a couple of things? Or maybe it is the meat that is really discounted? I don't really know what is the draw to this place. I didn't purchase anything at this "discount" grocery store. Instead Marcus and me went to Kroger right after our Aldi experience where I got a whole lot of grocery for 58.07. Booyah Aldi.

Absent

sorry for my absence. my grandfather passed away last Monday and i drove to Alabama. Two good things about the trip, seeing all my family and free food.

While in Alabama I had an ramen salad, and remembered I had a great recipe for a delicious salad. So I thought I would share with you.

Wendy Kelly's Cabbage Salad

Mix together:
1 large package cole slaw mix or one head of shredded cabbage
1 box frozen green peas

Dressing:
1 Tbs. poppy seed
1 tsp. dried mustard
salt to taste
5 chopped green onions
1/3 cup white vinegar
2/4 cup oil
1/2 cup sugar

Add 1 cup peanuts and dressing to taste
(probably enough dressing for two salads)

It really is delicious.

Oh and an Aldi supermarket just opened in my neighborhood. I think I'm gonna check it out today and see if the savings are legit.
